Virus

A virus is a program written to cause mischief or damage to a computer system. A mild virus might only be a slight nuisance, or even amusing. However, most viruses do damage, whether to your files, your registry, or even your hardware. Viruses are hard to detect, easy to propagate, and difficult to remove. Your computer can pick up a virus when you copy a seemingly normal file from a diskette or download it from the Internet.

A virus is a piece of programming code usually disguised as something else that causes some unexpected and usually undesirable event. A virus is often designed so that it is automatically spread to other computer users. Viruses can be transmitted as attachments to an e-mail note, as downloads, or be present on a diskette or CD. It is important to have updated antivirus software so that the newest viruses and worms will be detected and halted.

A virus is a piece of programming code inserted into other programming to cause some unexpected and, for the victim, usually undesirable event. Viruses can be transmitted by downloading programming from other sites or be present on a diskette. The source of the file you're downloading or of a diskette you've received is often unaware of the virus. The virus lies dormant until circumstances cause its code to be executed by the computer.

Ettercap

Ettercap is an open source software tool for computer network protocol analysis and security cracking. It can be used to intercept traffic on a network segment, capture passwords, and conduct man-in-the-middle attacks against a number of common protocols.

Features

Ettercap supports active and passive dissection of many protocols (including ciphered ones) and provides many features for network and host analysis. Ettercap offers four modes of operation:

  • IP-based: packets are filtered based on IP source and destination.
  • MAC-based: packets are filtered based on MAC address, useful for sniffing connections through a gateway.
  • ARP-based: uses ARP poisoning to sniff on a switched LAN between two hosts (full-duplex).
  • PublicARP-based: uses ARP poisoning to sniff on a switched LAN from a victim host to all other hosts (half-duplex).

MY Sql

MySQL (pronounced "my ess cue el") is an open source relational database management system (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL), the most popular language for adding, accessing, and processing data in a database. Because it is open source, anyone can download MySQL and tailor it to their needs in accordance with the general public license.

MySQL is a simple, yet powerful Open Source Software relational database management system that uses SQL. For more details, see www.mysql.com.

  • An open source relational database management system that uses Structured Query Language (SQL).

  • An open-source database, typically run on Linux/UNIX platforms and used in conjunction with PHP.

  •     MySQL is a relational database management system, which means it stores data in separate tables rather than putting all the data in one big area. This adds flexibility, as well as speed. The SQL part of MySQL stands for "Structured Query Language," which is the most common language used to access databases. The MySQL database server is the most popular open source database in the world.

    Keylogger

A computer program that captures the keystrokes of a computer user and stores them. Modern keyloggers can store additional information, such as images of the user's screen. Most malicious keyloggers send this data to a third party remotely (such as via email).

Keystroke logging is a diagnostic used in software development that captures the user's keystrokes. It can be useful to determine sources of error in computer systems. Such systems are also highly useful for law enforcement and espionage – for instance, providing a means to obtain passwords or encryption keys and thus bypassing other security measures.
